Common FAQs

What is involved in a Pelvic Health Physio examination?

Our appointments are always guided by what you as a patient feel comfortable with. We do offer real-time ultrasound as a form of "non-invasive" exam completed through your abdominal wall. However, in many cases, vaginal and rectal examinations are recommended to thoroughly examine the external and internal structure and function of the pelvic floor and anal sphincter muscles.  This helps us to provide you with a thorough assessment and tailor treatment specifically for you and your health goals.  Please know, all of our clinicians are trauma-informed and your consent and comfort are always priority.

Do I require a referral?

No, you don't require a referral to book Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. If you are eligible, your GP may refer you with an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (where you may be eligible for Medicare rebates).

If you have "EXTRA's" cover with your private health fund, you may swipe your card at your appointment and receive your individual health fund rebate.

Can I bring my baby to an appointment?

Absolutely. We are a baby/kid-friendly clinic, and our team is always willing to lend a hand where possible (we completely understand the juggle).
